Made For Originals

Australian hair colour, care and styling brand O&M transformed Sydney’s Carriageworks into a vibrant hub of creativity and education with its Made For Originals event on November 12. 550 attendees watched real-time colour transformations by five internationally-recognisable artists: Jaye Edwards, Ameilia Jane, Kim Haberly, Kirsty Anne Sage and Becc Snow. This festival-style event also featured DJ beats, coffee carts and styling stations. It sounds like fun, and we love any event that celebrates learning and collaboration.

Let’s learn about O&M

If you’re unfamiliar with this Aussie brand, O&M is all about clean beauty. It creates products that are safer and more natural than traditionally used harsh salon chemicals. O&M’s goal is to combine nature and luxury, providing you with safe, effective and beautiful products. Sounds good to us.

O&M founder Jose Bryce Smith describes the event as a “…masterclass in the art and science of hair colouring.”

So, what exactly took place?

Celebrity hairdresser Natalie Anne brought education to the main stage and conducted a styling session. Jose held a Q&A with international guest Tia Lambourn from the UK and other guest artists and educators. We hear all the excitement finished with a fun drinks reception. Who doesn’t love a good after-party?

Gary Prigge, O&M global educator, says: “The event marked an industry milestone and is the largest undertaking by O&M to date. Featuring Australia’s top hairdressers, it set a new standard. More than just an event, it evolved into a celebration of like-minded individuals seeking empowerment through education and genuine connections.”

Made For Originals

Tia (international guest) says: “To say this was the first Made For Originals event! I can’t wait to watch it change and grow over the years and I hope to take part in it again. The day before the event, we had a run-through with all the educators. Seeing how the O&M team was coordinating the day was such a buzz. The day was incredible. You could see how much work had been done behind the scenes to ensure it was fully immersive and educational. As a lover of education, I was spoilt for choice. I had five educators to learn from, showing their favourite colours, products and more. Jose had asked if I would participate in the panel as a guest, and I was honoured. I loved that this event showed individuality and offered something for everyone.”
