Salon Manager reveals why sales reporting is so important

You don’t need us to tell you the cost of living has risen, and this is continuing not just in the UK but worldwide. Energy prices are going up and the cost of products increasing is putting pressure on salon owners to increase their own prices, while clients aren’t returning due to not having as much disposable income. With that in mind, it’s incredibly important that businesses have reporting systems in place, particularly when it comes to salon finances. Below Salon Manager share some ways sales and financial reporting tools are crucial for salon businesses…

  1. By using reporting data for financial management, you are able to track expenses, monitor profit margins, and assess the overall financial health of the salon. This information is vital for budgeting, setting prices, and maximising profitability.
  2. Should you see that the financial health of your salon is in danger, you can look at areas that you may need to improve on and take any steps that may be necessary to see positive changes.
  3. Should you make any price changes, financial reporting will allow you to see how these are working for you, if clients are still returning and happy with the extra costs or if they’re not.
  4. You can also see what you are spending money on and look at any ways you can reduce your spending to avoid having as many outgoings as possible for your business. During a cost-of-living crisis it’s a good time to relook at what you are spending money on and if there’s any way you can reduce costs to save money.
  5. To easily track sales and revenue is also crucial for your salon business. Accurate and detailed sales tracking will make it easier to analyse revenue trends, identify peak sales periods and make data-driven decisions for the salon.
  6. Salon Manager’s integrated payments provide accurate and detailed sales tracking, making it easier to analyse revenue trends, identify peak sales periods, and make data-driven decisions for the salon.
  7. When looking at your peak sales periods, also look at off-peak seasons/hours in the salon, as this is an area for opportunity for you to run an offer/promotion in the salon to attract new and existing clients and increase sales.
  8. January/February for example are quieter months in the salon following the Christmas rush in November/December, so here, you may want to look at any services you can promote at reduced costs to continue to attract clients back through the door, whether it be with colour offers or packages of a few in salon services at a set price.
