Anti-Black Friday

Scrummi is making waves with its latest campaign which challenges the consumer frenzy surrounding Black Friday. With a resounding message in its latest campaign, “Black Friday is bullsh**t,” Scrummi is standing against Black Friday. Why? The brand wants to emphasise the negative environmental repercussions of this retail phenomenon.

The Anti-Black Friday idea

In a bold move, Scrummi urges consumers and partners to rethink their participation in Black Friday and its adverse effects on the planet. Instead, the company proposes a responsible alternative: embracing eco-conscious choices and reducing our environmental impact.

What is Black Friday?

Quick recap: Traditionally Black Friday is the term for the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It marks the start of the Christmas or Holiday shopping season, and shops and brands infamously drop prices and offer huge discounts. As you can imagine, this leads to a lot of shopping…and NOT just in America but globally. This includes the UK. You’ll doubtless have noticed advertisements for Black Friday sales popping up in your inbox the past week.

Sustainability

Scrummi says a commitment to sustainability is at the core of its brand identity. Its products, designed to reduce the environmental footprint of the hair and beauty industry, have gained recognition and respect for their eco-friendly practices. The company’s campaign aims to raise awareness about the environmental cost of Black Friday.

The Black Friday frenzy

The Black Friday frenzy has become synonymous with overconsumption and unnecessary purchases, leading to an alarming surge in greenhouse gas emissions and waste generation. Scrummi’s campaign highlights the shocking projection that Black Friday is poised to generate an additional 429,000 metric tonnes of CO2 from product deliveries alone. That’s no small number…

Robert Cooper

Robert Cooper, managing director at Scrummi, says: “At Scrummi, we don’t believe in Black Friday. Our mission is to reduce the environmental impact on the hair and beauty industry, not encourage overconsumption and unnecessary purchases. Let us help you reduce your environmental impact, not add to the destruction of the planet.”

Make thoughtful choices

The campaign encourages customers and partners to join Scrummi in making thoughtful and sustainable choices for hair and beauty needs. By opting for eco-friendly solutions and rejecting the Black Friday rush, you and your clients can help preserve the planet for future generations.

A powerful call to action

Scrummi’s anti-Black Friday message is a powerful call to action for consumers, partners, and the industry to prioritise the environment over fleeting deals. We can collectively make a difference by saying “no” to Black Friday and embracing a greener approach.
