Rock & Roll Is In The (H)air

A jauntily named collection, Rock & Roll is in the (H)air is a new Joico Masterpiece collection by Sofie Schrauwen and Robby Osselaer. The looks capture a brilliant balance between carefree abandon and daring rebellion. It reflects the modus operandi of the hairdresser responsible –  which makes these artists legendary in their own right we’re told.

Multi-award-winning Sofie is co-owner of Bobhead with her husband and fellow Joico ambassador EMEA, Robby Osselaer. Based in Belgium, Sofie has built up an enviable reputation for her colour work, while Robby has spent 27 years honing his craft in cutting and styling.

While creating Rock & Roll is in the (H)air, Sofie and Robby took inspiration from Cubism. This is an early 20th-century avant-garde art movement that significantly impacted European art. Think abstract geometric shapes, interlocking planes, and collages.

We hear that Sofie and Robby love a good challenge… for Rock & Roll is in the (H)air they combined art inspiration with current runway trends that celebrate the 90s. Robby says a true masterpiece is “a shiny, fashionable, wearable, commercial look with a lot of texture – simply the whole package.” This statement certainly rings true in the collection.

Robby and Sofie used Joico’s Vero K-Pak Colour, a high-end crème colour, to create the looks. The full spectrum of inter-mixable shades gave the duo maximum creativity and individual hair-art expression. The result? An edgy masterpiece that shows shiny, reconstructed, healthy hair.
