Epoch collection by Justin Pace

Epoch is a super-cool collection by Justin Pace, owner and director of Co and Pace salons in Brisbane, Australia. Note Justin is also the current AHIA Creative 2023 Australian Hairdresser of the Year in case you’d missed it! So he’s got the art of creating winning imagery in more ways than one.

Back to Epoch; we love these sophisticated chic looks. They’re a reminder that you can create photographic looks that appeal to salon clients while retaining a ‘catwalk-worthy’ vibe. Epoch means a new era, and Justin says after commencing a new brand in 2020, he wanted to create a beautiful, salon-friendly commercial photoshoot by 2022. We say he’s nailed this, what do you think?

Let’s talk about the hair

Justin based the hair on big, beautiful blow-drys and simple wet looks. Justin says he wanted to explore a combination of textures (think body, straight and curly) while creating elegant movement in the hair. Black-and-white photographs add to the timeless aesthetic of this collection. Justin wanted a collection where each image could be brought forward as required.

Styling and makeup

The styling combines textured fabrics with leather, fringing and sequins. The clothes are structured with fitted silhouettes. The makeup is not overpowering, so it enhances the natural beauty. The skin is immaculate while the eyes pop. The elegant, modern styling and refined makeup help this collection shine even more so than it already does.
