Boys Don’t Cry by Sam Elliot

Toni&Guy

Boys Don’t Cry is a men’s collection by Sam Elliot at Toni&Guy in Covent Garden. We applaud his use of varying lengths and shapes to create images that are altogether striking and fashionable. It’s no surprise that Sam won the title Men’s Hairdresser of the Year at The British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional. Congratulations Sam.

About Sam

Sam joined Toni&Guy more than ten years ago, and we hear he has become an integral member of the brand’s International Artistic Team. As a stylist, Sam clearly understands cultural trends, which he demonstrates in Boys Don’t Cry.

Sam says hairdressing is important to him because he gets to show his creative abilities. And that’s not all; Sam also heads up the men’s courses at the Toni&Guy flagship academy, he must have a busy schedule!

When hard work pays off

‘I’m honoured to have won this award’ says Sam. ‘This has been a life-long dream for me. I’ve put in lots of hard work, and it feels amazing for it to pay off. I want to thank my Toni&Guy family and everyone who supported me with this collection. The industry is brimming with so many talented men’s hairdressers. It was a privilege just to have been nominated alongside exciting artists. Huge thanks to the judges for believing in me.’

The awards

HJ announced the BHA winners at a red-carpet ceremony on Monday 27th November at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London. Finalists submitted a photographic collection demonstrating technical and creative expertise. We know the competition must have been tough, so kudos to Sam for pulling through.

Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards says: ‘In winning the Men’s category Sam has demonstrated a creative vision and level of expertise that is jaw-dropping. His work is an inspiration to us all and utterly deserving of this title.
