Unite’s Runway Ready grads just had the opportunity to support yet another fashion show and that’s not all… they were even featured in Vogue! Patrick McDowell‘s ‘Marie Antoinette goes to Liverpool’ was held at the Jimmy Choo Academy in Hanover Square.
The hero look was a gravity-defying roller wig, worn by Kyle De’Volle and styled by Kennedy Rough inspired by the show title with a fabulous take of the Marie Antoinette shape, juxtaposed with a tongue-in-cheek look of having rollers in all day.

The Unite hair team, directed by ambassador and lead hair artist Narad Kutowaroo created a sleek and classic look for the models. Long hair was slicked straight back, and shorter hair given a side part as a nod to Marie Antoinettes husband Louis XVI.
Unite Session-Max Strong Spray
The team used this hairspray to keep the model’s hair perfectly in place. Working the product through the hair from the roots, and using a hairdryer to make hair flat and create a strong, sleek look. As the product builds so does the shine, creating impact when the runway lights hit the hair. On straight hair, ends were flat ironed using Unite Re:Unite Silky:Smooth Heat Activator for dramatically smooth and shiny hair. Wavy and textured hair remained natural for variation
The completed look was classic runway – elegant, sleek, and shaped to the head, with the back having natural texture.
Unite’s 18-strong Hair Team included recent participants of the Runway Ready course. Any hairdresser taking the course will not only gain knowledge, skill and confidence, they’ll also be invited onto Unite’s backstage team at Fashion Week for the season. The next Runway Ready course is January 3rd & 4th 2023 and bookings are now open.
