#OribeObsessed: Ronan Stewart

Ronan Stewart

Ronan Stewart, a Northern Ireland based hairdresser and salon owner tells us why he’s #OribeObsessed. Ronan has been hairdressing since finishing school at the age of 17. After time spent travelling and working around the world, he went on to open Ireland’s first eco salon in 2011 and Atelier’s flagship salon in 2020.

“I still love it as much as I did on my first day. It’s so diverse, being behind the chair is just as satisfying as being on set of a shoot or educating; but my favourite part is seeing our apprentices come through and become established stylists,” says Ronan.

Tell me about your salon

We are a luxury sustainable salon based in Northwest of Ireland , we have an amazing team of 25 creative innovative, fun individuals. At Atelier we are all about embracing individuality and inclusivity for our team and clients – we want to give them the most relaxing, chill environment to meet all their hair needs.

We are also about community. We host regular pop-up’s for local brands to showcase their products and have live DJs regularly.

When have you been most successful and what are your proudest achievements?

In November we won Irish salon of the year at the Professional Beauty/HJ awards. It was amazing for the whole team and especially our manager Leonie, who really is the backbone of the salon.

Proudest moment for me is when an assistant comes through the ranks and I can see them beginning to achieve their career goals.

Why Oribe?

Oribe is the epitome of luxury, and when we opened Atelier we only wanted to use the best products on our clients. Their exclusivity was a big factor, even the process to be picked as an Oribe salon was nerve-wracking. We’ve built an amazing relationship with them over the years and long may it continue.

How did you discover Oribe?

I’m invested in our our wonderful industry and when opening Atelier I needed a brand that really set us apart. There was only one brand that had the luxury element, education, support and ethics that suited Atelier.

What benefits do you and your team receive by being an Oribe salon?

The number one thing for the team is education and the chance to use the wonderful products and see the results on our clients.

What does Oribe mean to you?

Oribe is a lifestyle brand that makes me smile every time I open a product and catch the scent. It’s just luxury encapsulated.

What are your 3 hero products?

Only three? That’s a toughie. I’ll go with what I use the most: Flash Form, Alchemy Fortifying Treatment and Rough Luxury Soft.

Thanks Ronan, we get it. We’re #OribeObsessed too!
