#OribeObsessed: Mason Josh

Mason Josh is a home-grown Josh Wood talent. Having worked his way up from trainee to principal hair stylist he is now renowned for his signature ‘effortless chic’ style – we can’t get enough of his infamous grown-out-bangs. With appearances on the Trinny Makeover Show and regular backstage assistance with Oribe’s global artist team, Mason’s impeccable taste and precision have made him a sought-after professional in the industry. His commitment to delivering the perfect blend of sophistication and effortlessness ensures that clients leave his chair feeling confident and ready to show-off their flawless new look.

When have you been most successful and what are your proudest achievements?

I try to find successes in the every day; I love my job and getting to spend time with interesting people whilst focussing on making my clients feel their best. This past year I have become a home-owner and lead educator at Josh Wood as well as starting my residency at Josh Wood Claridge’s. It’s been pretty cool!

Why Oribe?

Oribe was designed and created by a fellow hair stylist, Oribe Canales. He understands hair, the way it moves, the way it feels and what clients want from their hair. He has used this knowledge to create products to achieve just that. I trust these products; they are premium, super versatile, and reliable.

How did you discover Oribe?

I first used Oribe products when I started at Josh Wood Atelier. They have always been a favourite here for both stylists and clients.

You’ve spent majority of your career with Josh Wood. Why is this?

The Josh Wood Atelier feels like home. Home for me and my fellow creatives to collaborate and have a sense of community. Home to over 40 hand-picked hair stylists and colourists, each experts in their own field and with their own unique style.

There is no such thing as “The Josh Wood look”, Josh recognises that clients and creatives are individual and encourages us to express ourselves. The Atelier feel is a members club, where everyone’s name is on the door.

How have you benefitted by being part of an Oribe salon?

I love that we get regular workshops and seminars. I’ve been on some backstage projects with the brand at Fashion Weeks. We also get to see and try new products and launches before anyone else and by being a stockist we are trusted by our clientele.

What does Oribe mean to you?

Expert. Trust. Loyalty. Luxury. Emotion. Creation

Finally, what are your three hero products?

Volumista, Maximista and Dry texturising spray

I was great to hear from Mason! And we look will continue to follow his Oribe journey on socials.
