The Factory Collection

We’re taking a trip back to 2019 when Candice McKay created The Factory Collection. Why? Because why not? This absolute masterpiece is a colorful and nostalgic exploration of the 1970’s inspired by old family photographs and we LOVE it!

A celebration of youth and a freedom from society’s norms, The Factory takes its name from Andy Warhol’s ‘Factory’, a gathering place for intellectuals, play-writes, Bohemians, rock stars and freethinkers. In its 70’s heyday, The Factory was frequented by these and other muses such as Edie Sedgwick, ‪Mick Jagger and ‪Debbie Harry; many of whom were photographed by iconic photographer Nat Finkelstein.

While the hair and styles may celebrate an era that’s passed, it was important to Candice that the color palette was not the faded tones of the photographs that spurred the collection. Instead she brought the images to life using colors inspired by the Kodak color film –new at the time– as a celebration of the original 1970’s colour.
