Our guest for this edition of the Respectfully podcast is a hairdresser and co-owner of the Saco Group, Richard Ashforth.
He talks with host Nicky Pope about where we find ourselves in 2022 and how he navigates changes in education and global connectivity particularly since the Pandemic. This is an opportunity to get an insight into Richard’s success in business, creativity and education on a global level. This said, as he is the Education ambassador for Alfaparf Milano in the UK and Ireland, and spends plenty of time between the London Saco salon and the Alfaparf seminar room, he remains well rooted to the UK industry.
Richard spent years working with Vidal Sassoon before opening the Saco salon group with a friend – and today is the brand’s international creative director (Saco now includes 12 salons and nine academies across several continents).
As well as winning awards for his stunning photographic collections (he’s been nominated for British Hairdresser of the Year) and becoming a highly regarded educator, Richard has gone on to launch the Noise pop-up events which give vent to his creativity… and ability to pull together and collaborate with other great artists.
After a two year break, Richard presented Noise in Korea earlier this summer, with a London show planned for October.
