EP03 – Hairdressing training with Mark Woolley

It doesn’t matter if you are new to the industry or if you have 20 years experience, you’re going to need regular training.

We all know that when you first start out you have a lot to learn before working on the floor as a stylist, but what about our qualified stylists? With new techniques and products forever being launched, training shouldn’t stop just because you are qualified! Stylists need education in order to evolve, progress and move forward in their career.

Tune in to catch us chatting about the difference of attitudes between generations, as we note the drop-out rate in hairdressing is higher than ever before. This is something we need to tackle head-on by making more effort to show potential apprentices exactly where a career in hairdressing can take them.

Our guest this week:

Mark Woolley– Award winning hair stylist and the brains behind Electric Hairdressing. With 6 salons and 100 employees, Mark knows a thing or two about training, from apprentices through to teaching his stylists new techniques. Electric is hailed as one of the most exciting hairdressing brands and we can see why… as well as the six bespoke salons, Electric also have their own studio, an academy,  a professional product range and lets not forget about the award winning artistic team.
