Osmo welcomes Jason Johnson

Osmo sure has been busy recently! Ending the year with yet another exciting announcement, Osmo reveals that barber-shop owner Jason Johnson is joining the team as a new brand ambassador.

Jason Johnson

Here’s an interesting story; Jason began barbering after working in the army for 7 years. As he travelled the world with fellow army colleagues, Jason watched YouTube videos of clipper-cuts to keep his hair clean and tidy for show parades.

Jason quickly grew a passion for haircutting…and grew his skills. We hear it wasn’t long before Jason’s army friends were requesting his skills on their own hair so they could pass regulations. When the time came to de-list, Jason realised his love of haircutting could become a career, and he enrolled in a barbering course in London.

History

Initially, Jason worked from his summerhouse, where his clientele quickly grew from word of mouth. After marrying, Jason and his hairdressing-trained wife opened a shop to take business to the next level.

The Angry Barber opened in 2019 and is now based in Elgin, Moray in Scotland. We hear clients can expect excellent cutting and colouring services. Jason’s wife, Lizzy Johnson, works regularly in the shop. Her experience in colouring enabled Jason to learn his bleaching and vibrant colour techniques.

Awards

Jason is a previous Scottish Barber of the Year winner at the UK Hair & Beauty Awards. He is also a regular at the Great British Barber Bash shows and has presented on the Osmo stand and main stage arenas.

Jason has clearly worked hard to get to where he is today. Part of this includes developing his own fading system. He has a creative style and uses his love of clipper and scissor work to create more unique fading finishes. Rumour has it that Jason’s technique is in demand at the shows…kudos to him!

Jason and Osmo

Jason has used Osmo for several years, saying his team and clients love the range.

Jason says, “It’s a fantastic range with something for everyone. This is a great opportunity to work closely with the Osmo team. My go-to product is Matte Clay Extreme (smells unbelievable), a great blow-dry product that gives a great, workable finish. Also, the Matt Sea Salt Spray gives an unreal texture. I’ll often cocktail them for longer hairstyles to get a textured-hold.”

“Jason will be a great asset to the Osmo Family; his passion and enthusiasm for social media and education is a perfect fit for the brand. Jason loves working with vivid colour, and with colour becoming more popular in the barbering community, it’ll be great to see how this area of his role progresses. Exciting times ahead for sure,” says Osmo senior brand manager Sinéad McLaughlin.
