Blake Henderson x Daniel W Fletcher with Fudge Professional

Our obsession with runway hair has yet to end! Let’s look at the fabulous hair looks session stylist Blake Henderson recently created in collaboration with Fudge Professional for the Daniel W Fletcher AW23 Show. Interestingly, Daniel W Fletcher’s collection, presented at the Royal Academy of Arts June 9th, comprised nine suits, made in partnership with Huntsman Savile Row, who tailored the collection.

The inspiration behind the hair looks

Blake says: “Hair was inspired by the sleek Teddy Boy hairstyles of the 1950s but with a modern twist. The Teddy Boy style is also a big inspiration behind Fletcher’s collection and decision to partner with Huntsman Savile Row, as Savile Row were behind the initial Teddy Boy craze back in the 1950s.”

Blake Henderson’s hair looks

Blake used Fudge Professional styling products to create the Teddy Boy-inspired look. First, he combed the hair back and slicked it down with a generous amount of Fudge Professional Hair Shaper. This was distributed evenly throughout the hair for extreme shine and hold. Blake then diffused the hair until the product had set. Once slicked back, the hair was held in place using Fudge Professional Skyscraper. Blake used Fudge Professional Head Shine Spray for a slick, shiny finish.

For models with longer hair, Blake split the hair horizontally into two sections. The bottom half was tied back into a ponytail and secured with Fudge Professional Skyscraper. The top section was then sicked back, following the same method as the above. On other models, Blake twisted front framing pieces into spirals and set them into place on the model’s forehead using Fudge Professional Skyscraper.

For a modern twist on the Teddy Boy hairstyle, characterised by its high finish, Blake completed the look with twirled face-framing pieces and a shiny finish. This modern twist on a traditional hairstyle captured the essence of Fletcher’s collection, taking a traditional tailored suit but making it for the modern day.
