EP40 – Being a salon owner with Caroline Sanderson

On the panel…

Caroline Sanderson is known as the Salon Jedi – a name she picked for being Star Wars inspired (she’s a fan!) and reflecting her key skills as a warrior to help you defend and promote your salon business. Let’s explain: Scottish and proud of it, Caroline is owner and Director of Ego Hair Design and Hair Heroes salons in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, as well as founder of Salon Jedi and Tartan Minerals Makeup. While she’s located in a remote part of the British Isles, her reach is extensive. Online, Caroline offers training and coaching in business skills. She says: “I am a hairdresser who successfully pulled my salon back from the brink of complete failure and closure in 2009 to now being in the top % of salons in the UK today.”

We talked about…

Collecting a slew of trade hairdressing awards to recognise her considerable business acumen, Caroline remains very grounded and approachable. Respect online editor Lauren Stone, and co-presenter Nicky Pope spoke with Caroline and found her untterly relatable. Recorded since the pandemic Covid 19 lockdown, the three also discuss ways to support teams during this crisis.
