Dan Spiller is a ‘go-getter’ – his mantra is “make sure whatever you do, do it with passion”, an ethos which he has continually echoed throughout his career. Having joined the Marc Antoni group at the age of 16, Dan established himself as one to watch early on his career, being award ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the 2010 British Hairdressing Awards. In 2022, Dan’s elite colour work was recognised with the prestigious title of ‘British Colour Technician of the Year’. Talented in colouring, cutting, and styling, Dan has spent the last 24 years honing his craft, transforming into one of the industry’s top colourists and educators. The harmony between cut and color is brought to life through Dan’s strategic color placement and cutting techniques, creating a high-energy finish. A vibrant cocktail of red, orange, and yellow hues infuse with one another to accentuate the cut’s multi-dimensional appearance. The hair’s structural silhouette allows each color to shine individually, being styled in a sculpted chin-length bob to showcase the fluidity of the color.

For this look, Dan pairs an edgy, super choppy, blunt bob with a disconnected fringe. The asymmetrical, spiky texture and multi-dimensional silhouette makes the subtle pink and red hues pop against the magenta base. The choppy, disconnected layers flare outward, creating an angular, almost wind-swept finish. This adds extra depth and dimension to the look, making it an eye-catching, bold statement style.
With your fingers, create the spiky texture by moulding the disconnected layers outwards and achieve that ‘lived-in’ look. To prep the hair, liberally spray JOICO Dream BlowOut Glass 72 hr Frizz Fighter onto damp hair before blow-drying to achieve that glass-like shine, whilst protecting against heat damage up to 204°C.
