The Grammy Awards never fails to deliver fashion moments and this year, hair took centre stage. From sculptural silhouettes to romantic fringes and modern ponytails, the Grammys proved once again that statement hair is just as powerful as the couture gowns.
A favourite for me had to be Lola Young; far from ‘messy’ with her Hollywood waves. I’ve caught up with some hairdressing experts to find out what their favourite hair looks from the night and an insight on why these styles worked so beautifully.
FKA Twigs
“FKA Twigs’ hair was a sculptural silhouette on the Grammy’s Red Carpet. Pairing this style with an electric red hue, her hair looked like it was alive! Shaped into a crown of thorns which closely resembled flames burning at the top of her head, the lengths of her hair were styled in mullet locs which cascaded down her back, capturing the essence of fairy glamour! True to her signature bohemian style, her overall look felt airy yet intentional, demonstrating how textured styles can transition effortlessly to the red carpet with thoughtful detail.”

Sabrina Carpenter
“On the Grammy’s red carpet, Sabrina Carpenter showcased a romantic half-up, half-down style which was paired with her signature wispy curtain fringe. This look exudes femininity and ethereal energy which is heightened with the addition of face framing pieces for added texture and definition. Sabrina’s hair is a focal point of her image and branding, infusing her playfully sweet essence with sultry elegance. When it comes to achieving Sabrina’s bouncy fringe – the secret is in how you blow-dry the hair! Sabrina’s wispy feathered fringe is on the longer side, so I’d recommend using a large round brush to shape the fringe and inject extra volume. Blowdry the fringe back and forth away from the root, then back and forth to get it sitting perfectly central. If you’re wanting mirror her exaggerated inward curl at the end of her fringe, then go in with a curl tong for added definition and that gorgeous sweep.”

Chappell Roan
“Chappell Roan infused romance and gothic glamour at the Grammy’s, highlighting the impact that a contrast in different lengths and textures can have on a look. Her iconic red locks were left long and loose, being decorated in deliberately imperfect fishtail braids, curls and crimped pieces throughout. A mix of textures created definition and depth, making for a voluminous finish – Chappell gave outdated trends a fresh, fashion-forward revival!”

“Tyla delivered a modern take on the classic ponytail. This multi-dimensional look featured classic elements but updated them with texture, braids, and loose waves. The deep side part helped the hair sweep across the face, instantly adding drama and asymmetry.”

Zara Larson
“The Grammy’s made a statement – long hair is back for 2026! Zara Larson’s mermaid waves were red carpet perfection. The loose, beach-inspired waves cascaded down her back with subtle volume at the roots. The relaxed movement of the hair paired perfectly with her bold outfit, adding subtle texture that feels both timeless and modern.”
