Tell us about your career journey?

I’ve been in the hair industry for 25 years and extensions quickly became my passion. I loved the transformations and the confidence they gave my clients. I got my teaching qualification and started to do extension training in my salon; I then was approached to come teach for Beauty Works.

Working with Beauty Works felt natural because it’s a brand I’ve always used and trusted, and now I get to share that knowledge with other stylists.

What are the key skills a student takes away from your course?

Students leave confident in consultation, colour matching, application, cutting-in, and aftercare-basically everything they need to offer a professional extension service straight away.

What’s your favourite part about teaching?

Seeing that lightbulb moment when it clicks for a student and their confidence just grows-it’s so rewarding.

How do  you choose your hair extension method?

It all comes down to the client’s lifestyle, hair type and desired results. Tapes are brilliant for medium -fine hair because they’re discreet and lay flat. Wefts work really well for clients who want lots of volume and thickness, while nanos are perfect for those who prefer flexible, lightweight method with minimal visibility. The consultation is key – I always make sure I’m matching the method to the client and always explain the maintenance for each method.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to grow their extension business?

Invest in good training. Train with a brand that you’re going to use so you have the help from a rep to make that move and support you along the way. Always show your work on socials.

What sets Beauty Works training apart?

Beauty Works is one of the top hair extension brands in the world. The training is extremely hands-on and practical, which is exactly what stylists need. The brand itself is so well known and trusted, which gives stylists instant credibility when they start offering the service. We don’t just teach the techniques we also help stylists to grow their business.

How would you describe your teaching style?

 Supportive, approachable and friendly
