Tell us about your career journey?

I have worked in the hair industry for 14 years and have solely been a hair extensions specialist for the last 7- insane!! Hair extensions are my absolute passion- I’m obsessed with everything to do with them. I was doing my own courses for a while but wanted to elevate my game and wanted to teach for the best, Beauty Works. I approached our head of education Dina after a bit of Dutch courage at the Molly Mae launch event years ago and asked for a job- and got it! It’s still a pinch me moment whenever I host a course.

What are the key skills students walk away with after a course?

After completing the course, students will walk away feeling fully confident in how to introduce hair extensions into the columns. The course covers everything from in depth consultations, placement, what method is best for who, blending, application and more. I give the learners my soul on the days and tell them absolutely everything there is to know.

Favourite part about teaching?

My favourite part about teaching the course is without a doubt the learners that I meet. These are people from all round the country who I would never usually meet- but who I instantly click with. The days are full of conversations, buzz and I’m on such a high when I leave. It’s a real privilege to host these days and I’m honestly honoured to be a part of it.

How do you decide on your extension method?

When choosing which method is suitable for my client- i first want to know everything about her and what it is that she wants from me. Are we talking just volume? Length with loads of volume? Bob thickener? It’s all about asking the right questions and making sure my communication is on point with her. I’ll also be looking at how much hair she has and finding out her complete hair history for the last 2/3 years.

What advice would you give someone wanting to grow their hair extension business?

Anybody new to extensions or thinking about offering hair extensions- all I can say is, do it. You are 100% missing a trick by not adding this to your skillset. Extensions are everywhere and you want to ensure you aren’t losing colour clients to someone else who does extensions, because going there for her colour is now easier. The money potential is just huge and the demand is just growing and growing- this isn’t a thing that’ll be slowing down any time soon.

What sets Beauty Works training apart from its competitors?

With our Beauty Works training I feel what sets us aside from other courses is the communication and depth behind the courses. You’re being trained by real extensionists who do this day in day out and have an absolute wealth of knowledge and understanding. The kits you receive are incredible as is the theory and practical side of the course.

Describe your teaching style in 3 words

Supportive, transparent, empowering.
