Cropped, chic and ultra-cool – the micro mini bob is set to be one of this season’s most transformative cuts, oozing fashion-forward energy. Falling somewhere in between the jawline and the cheekbone, the micro mini bob commands attention in any room, embodying a more polished, daring approach to the much-loved classic bob. With its clean, sharp lines, this cut is designed to be eye-catching without feeling overdone; it focuses on precision, offering a strong, structured shape that naturally enhances the face. If you’re looking to make a statement, the micro mini bob will be the next evolution of the contemporary, classic cut.

Singer, Anne Marie wears the micro mini bob really well, which I think will really encourage clients to experiment with their look and perhaps dare to go shorter. The micro mini bob can be tailored to suit a variety of face shapes, hair types and personal styles – whether that’s adding more layers or a set of bangs, the micro mini bob can be completely bespoke to the client which makes it so special. This cut perfectly balances edge and femininity – particularly suiting those with straighter hair, as the sleek, smoothness of the hair helps to emphasise the shortness of the lengths. Those with an oval face shape look great with the micro mini, as the silhouette highlights the face’s symmetry and draws attention to the slenderness of the jawline.
When it comes to styling, I’d recommend using a medium-sized round brush to style the ends of the hair outwards for a mod 1960s look. With how short the lengths of the hair are, the over-exaggerated flippy ends look compliment this cut beautifully. Even through the micro mini bob’s roots are based on precision and sharp lines, this cut looks fabulous even when left to naturally airdry after washing. I’d recommend using a light spritz of texture spray to boost volume and style the hair. The ‘micro mini bob’ is both simultaneously on-trend and timeless, appealing to clients who want to feel chic without being overly styled.
