What’s hot this summer?

Summer peach pastel hair

Some trends come and go faster than the speed of lightening – but this season’s trends have already established their place. This summer will be taken over by light, bright hues, and textured looks – and we’re here for that! Blondes don’t kneed to be basic… why not take your client ‘syrup blonde’ – an intensely rich and glossy blonde that will have them feeling like they’re living in an endless summer. Forget about outdated bobs, spice up your clients cut with a textured bob. This haircut will instantly refresh their look, whilst improving their hair’s overall health – just in time for summer! We chatted to Safy B, from Safy B’s salon in Aylesbury, about the top trends that will define Summer 2024 hair.

Pastels

Pastel hues have slowly been cropping up everywhere – fashion, nails, homeware, and it seems like hair will be no different! Safy said: “For clients who are wanting to try something a little different this Summer, I’d recommend adding playful twist to their look with pastel hair colours like lavender, peach, or baby blue. These soft hues are perfect for making a statement without going overboard”.

Balayage

Balayage has been a salon staple for as long as we can remember, with lots of clients clinging on to their regular balayage at every appointment. But have you ever recommended lived-in balayage? This low-commitment colour will be taking over throughout the summer months, giving your client’s hair a naturally sun kissed glow. Safy comments: “In my eyes, this style never gets old! These seamless, natural-looking highlights grow out beautifully, giving your effortless, glistening hair all season long.”

Syrup blonde

This summer, Matilda Djerf’s syrup blonde has been many clients’ hair inspiration picture – and we can completely understand why! This colour is summer’s sweetest shade and Safy absolutely loves it! She said: “This sophisticated hue features subtle hints of both cool and warm tones, being a mix of warmer beige tones and bright golden tones, with low lights blended seamlessly throughout to achieve that beachy glow.”

Texture

In terms of cuts, this season will be all about textured hair with lots of dimension – making the summer the perfect time for your client to awaken their inner beach goddess. Safy says: “We’ll be seeing lots of long, flowing locks – mermaid vibes! Whether you opt for natural waves or sleek, straight strands, mermaid hair is all about embracing your natural texture.” Textured bobs are another great choice for your clients who are looking for a refresh for the summer months, whilst also improving your clients over hair health. Safy comments: “This versatile cut can be customised to suit your client’s face shape and personal style – making the opportunities endless! Whether your client prefers choppy layers for an edgier look or a softer, tousled waves for a romantic vibe, this haircut captures the essence of summer style!”
