Deep Side Partings win

Conversations with Kiku salon on trends always deliver something interesting. The salon is based way up north in Scotland’s vibrant city Inverness. But the vision from Paul and Hiro at Kiku is all-seeing. Here’s what they give us for Autumn:

Here’s what the trend-prediction is for this week:

“With a fusion of 60s-eqsue style and soulful voice, Sienna Spiro is undeniably a 2026 ‘It-Girl’. Her signature romper dresses, go-go boots and mod make-up, coupled with her perfectly teased bouffant, transports you back to an era of mini-skirts, Carnaby Street and the Rolling Stones. However, there’s one element of Sienna’s look that stands out for us as hair experts: the deep side parting.

“Having been overshadowed by the middle parting for the past few years, we love the side parting for its ability to add movement and dimension to almost any silhouette. Its exaggerated essence is what makes the deep side parting the perfect accompaniment to Sienna’s big bouncy bouffant. This style harmonises beautifully with Sienna’s soft heart-shaped face, accentuating her high cheekbones and slender jawline.

“The beauty of the deep side parting is its versatility, working across all hair types and textures. it lifts at the root, creates shape around the face, and can make hair look thicker and fuller even when it is not. This parting works just as well on sleek styles as it does on big, bouncy, bombshell silhouettes like Sienna’s.”

“To re-create the deep side-parting, we’d recommend using volumising products and gentle heat styling to get your parting sitting perfectly. We love Oribe’s Magnificent Shampoo and Conditioner which plumps the hair shaft and adds weightless volume. When working with partings, we don’t dry to the parting. Instead, we dry the sections vertically over the parting to maintain natural lift and volume at the root before we put the parting in. To achieve that sleek, sultry finish, straighten the parting to cascade down one side of the face.
