Barber cuts hair for charity at the top of Mt Kilimanjaro

A courageous barber from Bristol cut hair at the top of Mt Kilimanjaro, raising £100,000 for a homeless charity.

Andis Ambassador Daniel Rymer, decided to embark on the Mt Kilimanjaro challenge following the Covid 19 lockdown. “I wanted to challenge myself to do something I’d never done before, and raise money for people dealing with homelessness and hopelessness,” said Daniel. “I decided to raise money for Caring in Bristol – a local charity with a vision to solve homelessness.”

Stepping in with support

With support from barbering tools brand Andis, who provided Daniel with warm-weather gear and a range of hair tools, it took the passionate barber and his team four days to reach the 5,895m Mt Kilimanjaro summit and undertake the highest hair cut on record. Hats off to you Daniel!

New beginnings

Giving him the time and space away from his business, Daniel says he’s returned to the UK refreshed and re-energised. “I’ve now rebranded my business to ‘Rythm Barbering’. Unlike before, this is a community hub that offers a safe, cool and creative space for independent barbers, as well as empowering self-employed beauty professionals, nail technicians and other creatives to thrive.”
