The 5th edition and possibly the best yet! The Tribu-te show in London this weekend had everyone talking. French artist Christophe Gaillet stole many hearts with a storming presentation of avant-garde models – not a word spoken, but the way he works and his looks are visually stunning. Well-loved faces on the Tribu-te stage and guaranteed to bring something new Angelo Seminara [hair extensions as you’ve never seen them before] and Tim Hartley [bravely carving shapes in Afro hair] were applauded rapturously. As newbies to Tribu-te, Jayne Wild from Australia was superb and showed how fiercely creative yet sophisticated she can be, and Cos Sakkas (Toni&Guy) showcased modern youth culture looks that were as brilliant as they were beautiful. We were smitten by them all

10 years after first joining Trevor Sorbie on stage in Paris, and several solo spots in intervening years, Angelo Seminara is back on stage at the Tribu-te show in London on Sunday 16 October. This is a rare opportunity to watch him live – a man of much travel, Angelo is not often in the UK spotlight and you should relish this chance to find out why he’s so well-regarded. He joins a line-up including other great masters of contemporary hairdressing: Tim Hartley, Cos Sakkas, Jayne Wild and Christophe Gaillet. A single ticket gets you in to see all 5 – it’s a no-brainer. You have to be there. Click here to buy tickets:

The Paris edition of the Tribu-te show last week was a triumph on all fronts. We were lucky enough to see this sell-out show (complete with queues clamouring for late entry even), and enjoyed a fabulous roster of 6 artists on stage at La Cigale in Montmartre. Our backstage pass let us in to see how this night in particular doubled as a reunion party for those with a Sassoon heritage! Cheers of joy as former company stalwarts Tim Hartley and his crew together with erstwhile Sassoonie Jay Mahmood found themselves stabled with current Sassoon star Sylvia Salerno. There is truly a family feel alive and kicking here.
Completing the lineup were hairdressing big-hitters Christophe Gaillet, Ludovic Beckers, and Angelo Seminara. As the end of show rapturous applause still rang in our ears, we note that Tim, Angelo and Christophe will repeat their prestige presentations in London on 16 October. You can’t miss it! Especially as Toni&Guy’s Cos Sakkas and Australian Jayne Wild make it a fabulous five. CLICK HERE to buy tickets:

The 4th London edition of Tribu-te Magazine’s much feted annual show attracted a whopping 800+ audience this year, with the theatre having to put extra seats on sale in the week before. We spotted the likes of Andrew Barton, Desmond Murray, Guy Kremer, Hooker & Young, and Tim Hartley all taking up seats to watch the line-up which included Renate Recchia as a surprise reveal. She’s artistic director of the Gandini team in Italy, and spoke with her hands [and lilting Italian most of us couldn’t follow] to create eye-catching updos. Following her, Ken Picton is a well travelled show presenter and also educational expert. Personable and gifted, he worked a striking look on the Pop Art theme with vibrant colour and curl techniques. Mark Hayes, international creative director at Sassoon, cut with the sharp eyed precision and perfection we associate with this skillful artisan. The hugely creative Indira Schauwecker, one of Toni&Guy’s leading art directors, is spell-binding – her vision and dexterity are awesome. To close, the inimitable Mark Leeson, a showman we admire hugely for his flair and daring, wowed the audience with brave, bold yet beautiful looks. The whole event was hosted by Jordanna Cobella who compered with real style! Bravo.
