Ahh, tales of charitable giving make us feel all warm and fuzzy. So when we heard that 100 percent of the proceeds from an art exhibition at idlewild’s Summerton salon were going to Oxfam we couldn’t help but smile. Bravo Mark Creed and team, what a fab way to start 2019.
Every three months, the salon, which is one of five in Oxfordshire, showcases the work of a different local artist on a specialist wall free of charge. The next artist to exhibit is John Rawling, who has agreed to donate the proceeds from all art sales (£30 each) directly to Oxfam, whose head office is also in Summerton.
“We’ve been doing these exhibitions for over two years and have featured some amazing artists, each with unique works across varying genres – from classic art to graffiti-inspired imagery,” says idlewild co-founder Mark Creed. “It provides a great community link-up for artists, both locally and nationally.”
