Meet Jack Kilpatrick

We’ve got our eye on Jack Kilpatrick as one to watch this summer. With a hefty 15 year of hairdressing under his belt along with his successful salon JKP Hairspa in Whitstable; we’ve heard Jack is up and coming and has some exciting things planned for the year.

Jack always knew he wanted to work within the hair industry. Starting his career at Toni and Guy Canterbury, Jack qualified as a stylist and quickly became in charge of all training within the salon. He soon realised just how many opportunities a career in hair could give him. From there, Jack moved on to work for Rush Hair in Canterbury, where he won best newcomer of the year at the Rush awards.

Knowing just what he had to offer to the industry, in October 2015 Jack took the step to work for himself and opened up JKP Hairspa on St Margaret’s Street in Canterbury. In 2021, whilst in lockdown, he acquired another salon in Tankerton Whitstable and amalgamated the two salons into one. Today, Jack heads up a team of 13, and the same love he felt for the hair industry as a trainee is what drives him today.

The salon

Specialising in colour and extensions, JKP Hairspa, is home to Jack Kilpatrick and his talented and diverse team that are busy benefitting from the education, inspiration and insight that Jack brings.

Inclusivity is one of the salon’s first and most important philosophies, which is why every team member is fully trained in textured hair – we love to see it! The salon also ensures that they are inclusive when it comes to pricing, which is why they offer gender neutral pricing. Being honest and inclusive, the team pride themselves on ensuring all clients feel comfortable, relaxed, and able to talk freely without fear of being judged – sounds like a salon we need to visit.

The wellbeing of the team is a big priority, by creating a supportive salon space where hairdressers can learn, grow and develop their own skills and expertise is paramount to the success of the salon and returning clients.
