Aesthetics new flagship salon Our flagship salon is a real beauty. Set in the market town of Henley the Grade II building has been painstakingly restored to retain all that was and introduce it to all that it can be. With two open fires, a courtyard garden, an abundance of natural light, space to work, read and just be, there’s no doubt the salon has been designed with clients’ time in mind.
The philosophy
“We’re sensitive to time being a precious commodity for us all and have designed our Henley-In-Arden salon to work around our clients’ needs.” says co-owner Sarah Bowron. “If plugging in and working is where you’re at, be our guest, all stations have integrated sockets and chargers. If you want to bring your furry friends, please do, doggy treats are on demand or if you just want to curl up by the fire, we’re total advocates.
She adds: “Bring your children, meet your friends, grab some lunch, it’s all good by us. We hope you’ll feel that our home is an extension of your home and be inspired, uplifted and delighted any time you spend here with us. We promise at Aesthetics to help you be your most beautiful version of you.”

The Salon that Pinterest built… As a diehard trawler of design, I already knew what I wanted and the materials I wished to use, but I needed visuals to get my concept across. Pinterest was invaluable for that. Concrete, antique brass sheeting, wood, light, open fire places, Oh and a Garden complete with swing, filled my Pinterest board.
Architects… are invaluable, not so much for the actual vision, but for the clever design methods that make a seemingly simple concept really work. Like removing a post to open up a space or creating an uninterrupted floor level from inside to out. They push your builder to be beautiful, not just practical.
The front of house… is so warm and welcoming with the log fire and club seats. Nothing’s nicer than cosying up in front of the fire and playing one of the board games or reading a book.
The parlour… is such a great place to sit, the lighting is really beautiful and the Takara chairs are so comfortable.
The Studio… is breathtaking, with an abundance of natural light, courtesy of six sky lights and doors that fold back to reveal a beautiful courtyard garden, complete with Swinging Seat.
The Courtyard Garden… is totally private and has been planted with pleached trees to create an arial hedge, David Austin Roses (Constance Spry), lavender and lilac wisteria. There’s lots of areas to sit and relax in, have a drink, lunch or just idly swing on the garden seat until your colour’s ready…Bliss!
Here at Respect, we’re head-over-heels for the huge six-metre table that is at the centre of the salon. Made from reclaimed/antique oak, it’s been specially modified, so that although it has all the beauty of an antique table, it’s also fitted with USB ports at every section, with warm LED lights at all the mirrors. Even the iron rails at either end serve as a great place to hang tools and the antique brass sheeting not just looks great but we hear, is also resilient to surface heat. Winner!
