20th Charlie Miller achievement awards

Before the Covid 19 really took hold, the 20th Charlie Miller Achievement Awards took place at the Intercontinental Edinburgh The George and it was a night full of glam and glitz.

Corry Riley

In a nutshell

The prestigious event was created 20 years ago to recognise and reward stylists, trainees, receptionists and head office employees who have excelled within the company throughout the previous year. 136 staff, management and special guests including representatives from Kérastase, L’Oréal Professional and GHD attended. Grant Stott, award-winning BBC radio and TV presenter, was  the host  of the night. Teams from all five salons celebrated together as 25 individual awards were handed out.

The company presented three Long Service Awards to salon manager Rosslyn Orr, assistant salon manager Lisa Allen and senior head stylist Neil Purves for their 20 years of continued service. Neil Purves also received personally chosen gifts like a Cartier ring, a platinum half eternity diamond ring and a Longines Hydroconquest watch respectively. Wow!

Joint managing directors, Jason and Josh Miller, were caught by surprise when they were given an award to recognise their continuing forward-thinking which has helped the business succeed. “The Achievement Awards are such a key part of our calendar year, and our opportunity to thank everyone for their hard work and continued support. Being presented with an Award at an event that is meant for our teams really caught us off the hop and we are truly touched and very grateful”, they said.

The grand prix award for ‘Outstanding Hairdresser of the Year’ was announced and presented to Senior Head Stylist & Head Technician, Corry Riley whose career with the company began in 1991.
