With deserved recognition on a global scale, we know Sam McKnight to be an entrepreneur and presenter these days, as much as hair stylist. His hair care and styling range Hair By Sam McKnight takes top spots in a Google search of Sam’s name, and earlier this year, he was awarded an MBE for services to hairdressing.
The recent return of the 90s Super models at Vogue World London on 14 September, gave us a reminder of Sam’s historically close relationship with fashion and celebrity. But make no mistake, Sam is still ‘on it’ with actual hairdressing! His session styling and Fashion Weeks for SS24 prove his continuing magic ways with catwalk hair. Browse just a few of his shows.

Glossy braided chignons with severity yet pretty finishes. Sam called this ‘alien Victoriana’. (MUA Terry Barber)Annies Ibiza
Sam and his team worked wonderful finger waves into the hair – to reflect the embroidery on the clothing said Sam. Fishtail plaits were created to add texture to low chignons. This was elegance done for 2024. We love it.Ashish
This was a fun show where Sam worked with the idea of taking characters to inspire the hair. You can spot Marilyn Monroe, 70s Disco Divas, and we noticed a clear Amy Winehouse. Challenging but clever.Dries Van Noten
Feathery fringes and faux mullets as Sam described it. We’re loving how he created some looks using actual feathers… this is a favourite. No drama, just soft ‘look-at-me’ vibes.Vivienne Westwood
We have to reference the Vivienne Westwood SS24 show with Andrewas Kontahler taking the reins. Sam described the hair look as epitomising the current trend for clean, healthy, gorgeous hair. What he calls #CoolGirlHair – and just what his range of products helps create. We’re happy to give it a plug – it’s the least we can do in return for enjoying so much from the big man.
