Precision Cutting Championship is GO!!

Precision Cutting Championships
L-R: Andy Heasman and Dove Palmer

We’re super excited to reveal that we’re the media partner for the UK’s first Precision Cutting Championship, set up by hairdressing stalwart Dove Palmer in collaboration with RUSH Academy. Can I get a whoop whoop?!

Entries are now open for the competition, which invites hairdressers of all levels and abilities to enter with a chance to win bespoke education with RUSH Academy and Palmer & Company, along with a top of the range hairdressing kit. The competition is completely free to enter via Instagram. It couldn’t be easier to enter and it’s the perfect way to hone your skills and receive recognition from your peers whilst we’re in lockdown.

For a chance to win, you will need to upload your precision haircut on a dolls head to Instagram with the hashtag #PCChampionshipsUK. For the first round entrants are asked to produce a look featuring Triangle Graduation, taking three photographs of their work, (examples can be found on the Rush Academy Instagram: @rush_academy).  The colour of the dolls head hair should be black, brown or blond but no fashion colours. Images should be taken with their phones with a clean white background.

The details for the Precision Cutting Championship

For round one, entrants need to adhere to the following…

  • Present your take on triangular graduation.
  • Cut to be demonstrated on a block head.
  • Entrants required to provide three different angle shots of the cut.
  • Images entered via social media using #pcchampionshipUK
  • Images will then be judged and winning entries will progress to the next round.

Discussing the collaboration, International Creative Director of RUSH Hair, Andy Heasman said: “We’re delighted to be collaborating alongside Palmer & Company with this really exciting competition. At Rush our philosophy is underpinned by Strength and Movement and we want to encourage others to showcase their passion for precision cutting.  Dove and myself cannot wait to see the entries.”

The deadline for the first set of entries for the Precision Cutting Championship is 24th May 2020, with finalists for the second round being announced shortly afterwards. bring it on!!
