UPDATE! The next edition of Live With… takes place on Friday 28 June and kicks off at 7pm!
Inviting the best current hairdressers and colourists over for a Friday night gettogether is a fab idea in itself, but how much better when you ask them to showcase a favourite look or trend and film it for Instagram Live! We’re loving this concept for a party with awesome talents as the guests, and which you can join on social media and feel as though you really are ‘live with…’ the likes of Tim Hartley, Gianni Scumaci, Tracey Hayes, Johnny Barber and many more. Thanks to educator, salon-owner and entrepreneur JB Mazella for making it happen. His idea is simple to be part of. Each artist is filming live both their own work and their friends, so you can hop from feed to feed, choosing who you follow, or stick with one and still see what’s going on. Love it! Plus, you can comment and ask questions – it’s super fun and really educational. The pilot earlier this Spring (see below) gives you the vibe.

Just hanging with friends and sharing ideas isn’t enough for Jean-Baptiste Mazella! Persuading his buddies to rock up to the M&P academy in central London last week, JB suggested they each cut or style a look on a live model, and film the entire happening on Instagram Live. Nice concept! So each participant passed their phone to a spectator who followed all the action both on their chair and each of the other 8 presenters. A shout out on social media ensured a few lucky local hairdressers could join the party as audience and there we had it. A massive online hairdressing tutorial delivered by some of the most exciting professionals of the moment:
