If there’s an event in the calendar to make you question your dry-January vow it’s got to be the annual Headmasters Awards. Never one to disappoint, this year’s event kicked off the hairdressing event scene for 2020 in style. Returning once again to Battersea Evolution, a New York theme was the perfect backdrop for the glitz and glamour. And even though we weren’t drinking the champers, the evenings host, Capital Radio presenter Roman Kemp, made things a little sweeter (wink, wink).

Show timeAttended by over 1000 of the Headmasters team, the event recognises the achievements and creativity of the brand’s salon stylists. Comprising seven awards for Business; judged on in-salon performance, plus five hotly contested Creative Photographic entries, one lucky colourist even drove away in a Mini Cooper following the yearly prize draw. Another lucky salon left with £5,000 to treat their team, courtesy of the Headmasters and HSBC sponsored award for The Big 5.
Creative Director Andrew Barton directed an eclectic celebration of NYC Street Style with hair executed by the Creative Ambassadors before guests enjoyed a three-course meal and the awards commenced.
Perfect partnership
The event was also the perfect opportunity for Headmasters to announce its partnership with EasyJet Holiday. Given that clients talk to their hairdresser about their holiday plans more than they do a travel agent, it really is a fabulous union. The idea is that 12 lucky stylists will become Social Media Ambassadors for Easy Jet Holiday and experience a once in a lifetime trip.
