EP54 – Junior Green & Jo Robertson discuss curls and texture

It’s a conversation we should all be having about helping clients to embrace their natural hair texture. This week we catch up with with Junior Green and Jo Robertson to talk all things curls and texture. Particularly relevant given the wave of awareness provided through #BlackLivesMatter, we discuss the lack of education and inspiration out there for afro and curly hair and explore what stylists can do to adapt and grow to become accessible to all.

A little bit about our guests…

A man of repute, Junior Green is an award winning afro stylist with a salon in Kensington. His hairdressing career spans more than 34 years and his award wins include Afro Hairdresser of the Year 2011 at the British Hairdressing Awards and a ton of gongs from the annual Black Hair and Beauty Awards. Joining Junior on the panel is the lovely Jo Robertson. Although a trained hairdresser, Jo is probably best know for her brand roles; most notably as Head of Education at ghd. Jo now head up her own agency and business club and last year was appointed Education Director for Wonderful Brands. But it’s Jo’s alter-ego as the Curl Goddess that makes her the perfect pairing with Junior for this podcast.
