EP34 – Barbering with Joe Mills & Mikey Pearson

With the male hair market booming, the question of the moment is what’s the difference between men’s hairdressing and barbering? or in fact, is there a difference at all? We invited Joe Mills of Soho favourite Joe & Co and Mikey Pearson, co-owner of Manifesto London to get some answers. Talking everything from traditional barbering to how to create the right atmosphere for the modern man, the duo agree that the future of men’s hairdressing has never been brighter.

On the panel…

Joe Mills is a household name in the world of barbering and men’s hairdressing. Renowned for his session styling and extensive celebrity clientele, which includes Jamie Dornan and Ben Affleck, Joe’s vibe is forward-thinking and innovative. No surprises then that London’s Soho with its energy and immersion is fashion and street culture was the home of choice for his shop Joe & Co. Most recently Joe has embarked on a partnership with Primark to open a MILLS barbers at both the Manchester and Birmingham stores. Mikey Pearson is the co-owner of Manifesto, the uber cool, modern men’s grooming salon in Clerkenwell. It’s sleek leather chairs, bare brick walls and atmospheric lighting create a premium barbering experience. Lush!
