In this episode of the Respectfully hair podcast, Dove Palmer shares his story, style and music choices with Nicky Pope!
Respectfully moved our usual recording process to join Dove live on his houseboat moored in East London at the Limehouse basin. We were intrigued by what the homely surroundings tell us about this world-renowned educator. In a lively and thoughtful conversation, Dove shared his take on pop culture, music and style icons and how this informs his hairdressing.
Hair for Curious Cats
Dove became a hairdresser in his 20s, and quickly joined Vidal Sassoon where he became an educator. And a first-class one at that. Focussing on precision cutting techniques, he travels widely to share his knowledge and stills finds the training process as rewarding today as ever.
In our podcast you’ll hear Dove explain what he sees as interesting and uplifting about hairdressing today. We asked him about his vinyl collection and enjoyed hearing plans for the Curious Cats Sunday Service gathering he is hosting over the Summer. He describes it as ‘hair for those that love to learn’.
To follow Dove, you can find him on his Instagram platform – where he often shares great Tips For Curious Cats! Don’t forget to DM him if you’re interested in the Sunday Service, too.
