We’re presenting you with our top seven Black hair styles that have not only made waves in fashion, but represent individuality, history and resilience.

1. Afro
The afro is probably the most recognisable Black hair style. Emerging prominently after the Civil Rights Movement, the afro celebrates natural texture and volume, Its bold silhouette embodies the essence of Black identity and remains a timeless style that continues to inspire.

2. Braids
From box braids to cornrows, braids have a rich history in African culture. These styles can represent everything from social status to personal expression. Braiding techniques vary across cultures making this a diverse look that is embraces globally – we love that community feel.
3. Bantu Knots
Originating from Zulu people, Bantu knots are small, coiled hair buns that create a striking and visual impact. Showcasing the beauty of natural curls whilst representing a connection to African heritage. Wear as a standalone style or unraveled for beautiful defined curls.
4. Finger Waves
Throwing it back to the 1920’s now. This vintage hairstyle involves shaping the hair into a soft and wavy pattern using fingers and a comb. Oozing elegance and sophistication, perfect for special occasions.
5. Puffs
Puffs are fun, playful and celebrate natural curls. A simple hairstyle that involves one or two high ponytails allowing the curls to cascade freely, They look great with hair accessories too. Making them a versatile style suited for all occasions.
