Zoomin’ around Vienna!

Hair by Richard Munslow

We had a blast in Vienna last weekend for the last-ever Goldwell Global Zoom event. With more than 3,000 hairdressers flocking to the imperial city it really was a special event. Coupled with a riot of graphic colour looks and spell-binding shows, fun-lovin’ hairdressers and the thoroughly engaged and enthusiastic head office team – it’s not hard to see how it’s become one of our favourite events of the year!

It was also a brilliant year for the UK & Ireland finalists too as Richard Munslow from TONI&GUY Hemel Hempstead (Partner category); Lauren Roma Hanlon from Slunks (Creative category); and Courtney Cairns from Headromance (New Talent category) were each awarded the Stylist’s Favourite Awards in their respective categories after the live Color Zoom challenge. With the UK’s prowess further cemented by Courtney Cairns going on to win Bronze in the New Talent category later that evening (pictured above).

After the live challenge came the eagerly anticipated Gala Show, where the audience witnessed the unveiling of Goldwell’s new Couture Collection 2020 entitled INTREPID.  The creative team introduced the collection which has pure lines, round shapes and disconnections where color becomes gender-neutral. Following the collection, the winners of the Color Zoom competition were revealed. Huge congratulations to:

  • New Talent GOLD winner: J Lim from Singapore
  • Creative GOLD winner: Irakli Sardalishvili from Russia
  • Partner GOLD winner: Yuujin Ho from Singapore

The following day came the artist sessions with short demonstrations from Hare&Bone, M&P, Mario Krankl and icono.

The global gathering came to an impressive and Bond-like close with a masquerade ball at the beautiful Hofburg Imperial Palace. The masks were epic, check out the Hare&Bone team to see what we mean. We’re eager to see how the shake-up of this much-loved competition will play out when the event rebrands as Kao Salon Global Experience in Amsterdam 2020; but for now, check the pics below…
