#WorksForUs top tips from Sally Brooks

During lockdown, it can be easy to get lost in a world of tea, biscuits and box sets. However, when the pandemic has slowed and we return to work, the last thing you want to be is uninspired and slow to get back into the throng of clients and shows, so make sure you’re following our #WorksForUs campaign for ideas and a helluva lot of inspiration. This week Sally Brooks has taken some time away from her pottery wheel to share her top tips for isolation. And we hope the image above from her 2019 collection brings you a sense of calm and tranquility.

“Working in a salon is busy, with constant client demands, a booming column and training eating into your free time,” says Sally Brooks, co-owner of Brooks & Brooks, London. “Now, you have as much free time as you want, so use it wisely. Take some time to reflect on the type of hairdresser you are – and who you want to be. Utilise what’s available to you so when you return to work, you’re stronger than ever!”

 1. Stay updated – check out digital magazines and websites to find out what is happening in the industry. As well as Coronavirus, people are talking about rebuilding businesses, offering their expertise and reassuring messages.

2. Podcasts – there are some great podcasts to listen to, from hairdressing to wellbeing, to fashion and music and life in general. Build up a list to regularly listen to, so you stay motivated and excited about what the future could bring.

3. Turn down the negativity – if you belong to a social page or group, and the negativity is getting you down, then turn it off and step away. Life is a challenge for everyone right now, and while we have to be realistic, we also need to be positive.

KAM Hair

With communication more important than ever, the team at KAM Hair and Body Spa in Lossiemouth has launched its new Isolation Hub. The hub provides clients with advice and tips from the team at the salon, allowing them to be able to look after their hair, nails and skin care at home until their next appointment.

A new tab on the KAM Hair and Body Spa website, the Isolation Hub not only includes tips and advice from the team on hair, nails and skin care, but also includes a link through to the KAM online shop, where clients can purchase their hair and beauty products easily and have these delivered straight to their door, as well as a gift voucher button, where clients can click through to order gift vouchers for future appointments or as gifts to help support the salon through this uncertain time.

Loving your style KAM Hair!
