#WorksForUs Taking on social media

Since isolation began we’ve noticed a growing number of you taking on social media and doing lives on FB and Insta. It’s amazing to see all this effort for connection and interaction within our industry. Lots of content, how-to videos, Q&As, tutorials and fun lives are out there at this very moment, but there are also many who are not feeling confident enough or need a bit of a push and some technical advice on the matter.

As part of our #WorksForUs campaign we asked our Digital Marketing consultant, Robbie Handley, for some top tips and this is what he said:

  1. Make sure your microphone and camera is working properly, and understand where the best places in your house are to record.
  2. Shoot landscape for no-live videos but always portrait mode for Insta stories and for lives.
  3. Use multiple channels to get your message to your customers. Facebook, Twitter, Email, your website, Linked In – the more the better!
  4. Video content is king – do your best to create as much video as possible, keeping in mind you want the video to include quality content for your audience
  5. If you have an email list, make sure you use it. Your clients want to hear from you! Get personal, write something nice
  6. Make sure you go live at a time of day where people are unlikely to be distracted. Evening or mid afternoon often works well
  7. Don’t be put off by low viewing numbers – keep trying to grow your audience.
  8. Interact. Don’t make it a one-way thing. Comment back, message, tag, share.

This is the perfect opportunity for taking on social media and developing or enhancing your skills. You can thank us later!
