Wellness day

Rainbow Room International clearly looks after its own. Recently, the salon group invited its teams to the Rainbow Room Academy in Glasgow for an interactive wellness day.

The wellness day included…

Becky Donnachie from the Terrence Higgins Trust held an educational session on transgender awareness and the LGBT community. As well as helping build understanding around the topic, we hear the session helped the team with communication.

Physio session

Claire and Shona, owners of West End Physio, held a session to help the team develop body awareness on and off the job. This involved going over how a day in the salon affects the body and the relationship between mental and physical health. Claire and Shona also debunked myths about neck and back pain and provided some practical movement hacks for hairdressers.

Laura Leigh Kerr

Laura Leigh Kerr, Rainbow Room International Academy director, says: “At Rainbow Room International, it’s so important to us to provide these regular wellness days for our team. The well-being of our team and clients is important to us. We want to look after our team’s well-being so they can properly look after our clients. Not only that, but it’s essential that our salons are a safe, inclusive space for all, where everyone feels comfortable.”

Hosting a wellness day is a great way to connect with your salon and ensure everyone feels looked after. We hope this has given you some inspiration…
