Wella Red Business Network Live 2024

Rumour has it the recent Wella Red Business Network Live event in Liverpool wowed the crowd. Over 280 delegates met at Liverpool Docks, the luxury Titanic Hotel, for the 26th Business Network Live event.

Wella Red Business Network Live 2024

This two-day event combines inspirational speakers, networking opportunities, shared experiences, business challenges and, of course, a chance to have fun. Dom Lehane, podcast host and industry-influencer, hosted the two-day event, and we hear he did a fabulous job keeping the energy high.

Max Amen

Max Amen, Wella managing director in the UK and Ireland, says, “What better way to reignite our industry than to connect as a Wella family and think outside the box? Business Network Live is an opportunity to learn from inspirational speakers and each other. This is an investment in yourself.”

An impressive line-up of entrepreneurs, authors, and iconic business leaders, including a behavioural scientist and esteemed psychiatrist, shared their wisdom. With each story different, there was plenty of super-useful advice for the audience to take away.

What went on

Highlights included a session from Alison Edgar MBE, who shared the importance of setting goals in business and creating a ‘Smash It’ mindset. Alison says, “One of the things about changing your mindset is that you have to believe you can do it”

A fascinating talk from Christian Howes linked data analytics to human behaviour, sharing thought-provoking messages about delivering clients what they need from their hairdresser.

Hairdresser and entrepreneur Sarah Yorke delivered a session on ‘Stylebook Directory.’ This is an online directory of hairstylists, trainees, barbers, and all hair industry professionals. Alison sparked plenty of interest in delegates to build a portfolio on the platform. Maybe you should check it out yourself?

Construction boss and entrepreneur Daniel Ashville shared the evolution of his construction business and its journey to success. Behavioural scientist Richard Shotton delivered some thought-provoking messages on human behaviour.

The most moving messages of the two days came from Jono Lancaster in his session on Self-Acceptance. “Fill your heart with love and celebrate who you are,” Jono says. We certainly agree with Jono’s widsom here.

Business expert Ellis Watson shared empowering messages, “You can’t change what you can’t change. Challenges of post–COVID society, the cost-of-living crisis, competition in your sector – you can’t change these things. Your passion is the most important fuel.”

Panel discussion

Wella says that the annual panel discussion at the Red Business Network Live is always a highlight. This year, the panel comprised industry-professionals Natasha Grossman, Sarah Mason, Darren Messias, Colin McAndrew and Steve Rowbottom. Discussion topics included attracting apprentices and maintaining existing business and franchise challenges.

An evening celebration saw guests enjoy a nautical-themed drinks reception and a three-course meal with entertainment. After dinner, comedian Justin Moorhouse entertained guests with a hilarious set before a glitzy band took to the stage for the party to truly begin.

It sounds as if the Wella Red Business Network Live 2024 was an incredible networking event that left guests ready to head back to business, fully motivated and prepared for success.
