Vivid vision

red hair vivid colour

Colourist Safy B breaks down three vivid styles you can use as inspiration for clients wanting a bold style. Certainly, it’s great for boosting business to have a theme that captures the client’s imagination. Whether it’s a day of celebrations, a colour or a trend in its own right, hairdressers do love to create and bring a vision to life. Keep reading for three looks inspired by a vivid theme and use yourself, or share with your team.

Safy says that the word “vivid” gives an essence of bright and bold colours. As technology and techniques improve, clients are encourage to be more brave with their chosen looks. Safy says that clients are adding more trends into the mix, and as a colourist, she loves it. What’s better than creating something new that’s also a challenge? Vivid trends can be bold yet subtle, depending on the client and their personality.

Rainbow Vivid

Rainbow Vivid incorporates reds and pinks, adding rainbow tones for a point of difference. This is a head-turner, for sure. The colour morphs from ruby red at the roots to fuchsia pink. The holographic rainbow is placed in the mid-section of the hair to provide a subtle surprise.

Red Rose

Red Rose is perfect for clients who want a complete transformation. This look is both a statement and more subtle than the bright, vivid tones. The Red Rose is a global, trending colour- very consumer-focused. The shade provides a wow factor but stays within salon trends. As a colour full of warmth, this could be the ideal shade to help your clients get through the winter…and welcome in the spring.

Subtle Version

Safy says that colour doesn’t have to be a full-scale transformation, as seen with her Subtle Version. Sometimes subtle additions make just as much of a statement. This look is a discreet yet playful placement of colour. Safy suggests a root shadow for short-haired clients. Safy’s top tip for root shadow: less is more. Safy focused the colour placement at the crown and blended lightly to create a ‘shadow’ effect

Hopefully, these looks inspire you to create daring, creative looks in the salon this year.
