Support the #TwoPointSix Challenge

The UK’s charities need your help, including the recognised industries charity of choice, the Hair & Beauty Charity. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events.

The organisers of the London Marathon, which has been cancelled due to COVID-19, have created a new initiative, the #TwoPointSixChallenge to help smaller charities suffering during the crisis. This ‘lockdown-friendly event’ (from Sunday 26th to Sunday 4th May) is open to anyone to support and very easy to take part in.

The Hair & Beauty Charity has signed up and is urging you to get involved and select them as your charity to donate via: www.justgiving.com/campaign/twopointsixchallenge

What is the #TwoPointSixchallenge?

The #TwoPointSix challenge is to dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and then fundraise or donate to the Hair & Beauty Charity’s donation page.  Taking up the 2.6 Challenge can be hair, barbering or beauty related; or you may even want to keep it fitness focused with walking or running 2.6 miles, 2.6 kms – or 26 press-ups, 26 minutes walking round the garden.  It can be a sponsored activity, or simply a donation – £2.60 or £26 – whatever is affordable – it all adds up and will make a real difference. The charity will be doing an Instagram takeover all week to encourage people to take part, have fun and raise money for the Relief Fund.

“Like many charities in the UK, our industry charity is suffering and needs help to raise funds so we can support our current beneficiaries and help the growing number of people contacting us for financial during the global crisis. This is a great opportunity for everyone around the country to get involved and support a charity that means something to them – I’m hoping that the hair, barbering and beauty industry will take up the #TwoPointSixChallenge and support us by getting involved in some fun activities to help raise money for us,” explains Hair & Beauty Charity President, Samantha Grocutt.

We can all do our bits to help. For more info on the 2.6 Challenge, visit twopointsixchallenge.co.uk
