Scrolling through the pages of the March issue of Vogue there’s no denying a distinct change in mood when it comes to hair for spring. As the daffodils start to bloom, it’s apparent that do-it-your-self, effortless styles are making way for a return to larger than life hair – elegantly done of course.
Did someone say drama queen? It seems that she is out in full force with the likes of hair icons Guido Palau and Paul Hanlon reporting a resurgence of powered-up, full throttle decadent fashion, which is being mirrored in the hair.

High society
Rumour has it, it took Guido three hours to create each of the five hair looks created for his Vogue feature entitled High Society as he insists people are “craving luxury and fantasy.” You only have to look at the images from the runways of Valentino Haute Couture and Marc Jacobs SS19 to see hair is being piled higher than ever. We for one are super excited to see that finally hair might distract from the clothes – however momentarily – on the catwalks.

Runway to salon
Of course we’re not suggesting you recreate some of these extreme looks on your clients, but how about a high shine chignon or big, bouncy blow-dry? Bring on the glamour we say!
