You may know Green Salon Collective (GSC) for its dedication to recycling and fostering sustainability within the hair and beauty industry. The B Corp recently announced five new salons to its ‘one-tonne club’ including En Route Hair & Beauty, Hunter Collective and S.J Forbes. For those who don’t know, salons in the ‘one-tonne club’ have significantly contributed to the environment. How? Recycling, reusing, or repurposing over one tonne (1000 kilograms) of hair, colour tubes, and salon foil instead of sending the waste to landfill. It’s an impressive feat and a task all salons should aim for in 2024.
The ‘one-tonne club’
We applaud the commitment and dedication of these five salons to eco-friendly practices and responsible waste management. By joining the ‘one-tonne club’, they demonstrate a passion for sustainability and play a pivotal role in reducing waste and carbon emissions.
Here’s an inspiring stat
Here’s an inspiring stat: The salons have collectively saved 8,183 kilograms of waste and 2182.28 CO2 equivalent (CO2e) emissions by not sending the waste to landfills. This effort shows a genuine determination to contribute to a greener planet.
A testament
Green Salon Collective says it’s thrilled to have these salons as part of the ‘one-tonne club.’ It’s a testament to their commitment to creating a more environmentally responsible and sustainable future.
Fry Taylor
