Marc Antoni in China

The Marc Antoni Artistic Team makes an annual trip to China (in the past 11 years) for the World Hair Congress in China, and an audience that grows ever bigger. This year’s reach was 4,000 hairdressers…woah. Imagine a crowd that size – the noise, the excitement! Kudos to Marc Antoni posse for reaching such a great audience.

Exciting news

The salon group certainly has made a name for itself in China. Excitingly, Marc Antoni artistic director, Bruno Marc Giamattei, has been named ambassador to the Chinese World Congress for the next two years, receiving an award to celebrate this accolade. Congratulations are in order.

What the Marc Antoni Artistic Team go up to

We hear the audience at this year’s World Hair Congress was not disappointed by the diverse array of models showing cut, colour and avant-garde styling. The team gave a detailed demonstration, sharing which techniques they used to create the looks. For the grand finale, 30 models resplendent in Vivienne Westwood took to the stage and were greeted by a standing ovation from the audience.

The team also visited the Mizi Oba and Marc Antoni Franchise Salon teams. Over three days, they held a series of practical workshops, demonstrating many of the looks that were shown on the main stage.

Marc Antoni’s expansion plans

Earlier this year Marc Antoni opened its first franchise salon in Xiamen and, on this visit, spent time working with the salon team, developing and honing their skills and techniques. With plans to establish the Marc Antoni franchise in China, a second salon was opened whilst the team were present. Several other sites being earmarked for future development. Stay tuned for more updates…

Bruno says…

“Coming back to China for the first time since 2019 was extra special,” says Bruno. “We were delighted to be back on the main stage and present a show of that magnitude, but to also have our salons in Xiamen and to see how the team was progressing was extra special.

Bruno: “The team excelled on every occasion throughout the trip to Xiamen, and it was a proud moment to share with my brother Marcus, nephew Paolo, who was taking part in his first major show and our colleagues Dan Spiller and Tom Ross.

“We’re already looking forward to the next Marc Antoni franchise salon opening and the World Hair Congress 2024.”
