The JOI of youthful-looking hair with Katrina Kelly

Katrina Kelly is the Joico EMEA senior creative color artist team member. She shares tips for establishing a routine for ageing hair. Katrina developed the routine based on what works for her more mature clients in the salon, and you can share with clients, too. It will help keep their hair looking youthful and fresh.

Katrina Kelly: “I recommend the new Joico YouthLock collection; it’s incredible. The collection is made up of four products: Shampoo, conditioner, masque and blowout crème. The products work together to transform hair and tackle problems I regularly encounter with my mature clients in the salon. The collection is formulated with collagen which helps to sustain youthful bounce, shine and manageability.”

Top two tips from Katrina Kelly:

Tip 1: Use a masque

Katrina: “Suggest that your clients use a masque every week or every 2nd week (depending on their hair type, texture and condition). This will instantly revitalise their hair, adding nutrients and nourishment to bring life back to ageing locks.”

Tip 2: Use a blowout crème

Katrina: “When blow-drying, always protect your clients’ hair with a crème. YouthLock Blowout Crème provides a shield to protect mature hair from breakage, hair fall (during brushing), humidity, and frizz. Blowouts also make hair look like they have more volume and oomph. Apply a small amount to the hands and evenly throughout the hair. Don’t apply too much to the roots, instead work with the mid-lengths and ends. When drying, focus the heat on the roots and lift the hair.”
