The Fellowship Presents Hair & Vision

In the Fellowship Presents Hair & Vision series, Schwarzkopf Professional recently sponsored a fun and colour-focused event called Blondes. Held in Glasgow, colourists from all over Scotland celebrated their blondes’ – sharing the trends, techniques and the evolution of the colour. Blonde is always highly sought-after by clients and colourists, so whatever the weather, it is a hot topic. We hear the evening was filled with inspiration and creativity; who doesn’t love a live industry event?

Blondes was held at Rainbow Room Academy in Glasgow, a space known for education and a love of colour. This made the perfect setting for a creative and colourful evening.

The Fellowship Presents Hair & Vision Blondes

Robert Eaton, Fellowship for British Hairdressing president, and Kay Brady, Schwarzkopf Professional national professional partner & events manager, welcomed the crowd. Kay discussed the evolution of blondes and how the colour will revolutionise the world of hairdressing over the next 6-12 months.

Tim Scott-Wright and Suzie McGill

Blonde Me ambassador Tim Scott-Wright and Schwarzkopf ambassador and Rainbow Room international artistic director Suzie McGill shared a look with the audience. Tim opted for a striking cool blonde, sharing how to tackle this trend in an efficient, salon-friendly time. Tim says: “Development time when creating trend-led colours is essential. Ensure this works for your column and your client but allows you to achieve the colour you envisaged.”

Suzie showed a creative, platinum look with texture and a striking colour section. Suzie says: “Partnering the cut and the colour is important, and something you must consider when creating a statement look. Plan and channel your vision to ensure you show the best of both at every opportunity. The cut is just as important when creating a strong colour look.”

Diana Carson and Archie Lam

Rainbow Room international artistic team members Diana Carson and Archie Lam shared creative looks, focusing on consumer trends. Diana showed a beautiful disconnected blonde bob, working with texture throughout the back, a shorter length and a choppy fringe. Diana explained that being blonde can be creative. It’s about bringing the best out of every individual and channelling their creative vision. Diana also discussed the importance of maintenance for blondes and how to achieve a high lift on clients with a darker natural base.

Archie showed his model (his first time on a stage) and shared a gorgeous, voluminous look full of curls and beautiful pastels. Archie shared the best way to achieve a more colourful look whilst keeping it client-friendly.

Schwarzkopf ambassadors, creative directors, and experts in textured hair, Ashley Gamble and Rick Roberts, took the stage. We hear this part of the evening was highly anticipated and focused on textured hair. Ashley and Rick created editorial looks featuring exceptional volume and incredible texture. The duo discussed the use of colour on textured hair, how to work with different hair types and why being inclusive to all hair types is vital in today’s market.
