The Cut by The Fellowship presents Hair & Vision

The Cut Fellowship

The Fellowship presents Hair & Vision returned to London for The Cut, an event sponsored by Wella Professionals. The Fellowship gathered stylists and colourists at the Wella World Studio to discuss the importance of ‘the cut’ in the salon today. From discussing history to trends and then techniques the question was to consider the importance of cutting. How can salon owners can use the cut to ensure their salon retains and builds this sector of clients. And that their teams are forever evolving in their careers. Interesting stuff and certainly important to the industry!

Fellowship for British Hairdressing president Robert Eaton and the Wella Studio leader Jacen Ward gave a short introduction and then on to the business in hand – creativity sessions.

Angelo Vallillo, art director at Stil Salon, shared a gorgeous textured look with the audience. Angelo showed the cutting techniques he used to achieve the look, explaining that it’s all about the bespoke technique for every client. Tip from Angelo; remember that no two cuts are ever the same!

Kitty Latham

Kitty Latham

Alongside Angelo was Kitty Latham, assistant creative director of Sassoon, who brought her colourful cut vision to life. Working with creative, choppy fringe and disconnected sections, Kitty showed a look which can be fully transitioned into salon-friendly styles. We like the sound of this!

As a crescendo, HOB Salons creative director Akin Konizi received an exceptional welcome from the audience. Akin showed different techniques and discussed the progression of the cut over the years. He  also shared his hairdressing journey, with numerous award-wins, an array of exceptional photographic collections and his love of education. Sharing his techniques with the audience, Akin explained his reasoning behind the cutting methods used and how the classics have stayed with him since early in his career.

It sounds like The Cut was full of excitement, with lots to see and learn. If this sounded interesting to you, the next Fellowship Hair & Vision event will take place on Monday 11th of September in London sponsored by Alfaparf.
