The best of Lockdown hair art

We might be confined to our homes, but that hasn’t stopped some of the best in the business getting creative and experimenting with different textures and techniques – we’re calling it hair art. Let’s face it, this is a true snap shot of our industry at its very best and it has us beaming from ear to ear. In fact our resident hairdresser and Hair Club Live go-to girl Justine Collins has been in her element trawling through your Instagram accounts to compile a collection of her favourite lockdown hair art. Over to you Justine…

Love the colour – Pantone colour of the year, classic blue – it’s so striking. The elevated winged structure contrasted with the delicate, waved, lacing effect on the face is mesmerising.

Mustafa Yanaz
Mustafa Yanaz, (L-R) looks 1,2 and 3

Mustafa Yanaz @mustafayanaz

Look 1: Everything comes together in this mysterious image to make it both strong and beautiful. The gorgeous violet hue and gentle waves combine perfectly to offset the sharp triangular shape and mega volume.

Look 2: Jet black! Loving this spider web-inspired style, with its matte texture, spindly layers and distressed internal pieces.

Look 3: I can’t get enough of these deep, head-hugging finger waves, and don’t get me started on the saturated apricot shade, which showcases the light and depth of the style so beautifully. Finally, the jagged pieces add a fierce editorial edge.

Sylvestre Finold

Look 1: Recreating a look from the seventies, this modern interpretation of the page boy style is fabulous. The face framing rolled fringe and loose, care-free, waves is something we could all recreate ourselves. Oh, and how awesome are the detailed accessories on the dolls head?

Look 2: The mix of indigo with charcoal is divine in this masterpiece from avant garde king Sylvestre. I love the combination of textures, from shiny and smooth rolls, against more distressed afro curls. The short bob style is cute too!

Look 3: The slim rope braids create beautiful lines throughout this style. Introducing net fabric into the hair gives the look an edgy, tough-girl style and a sense of youthfulness.

Olivier Schawalder

Olivier Schawalder @olivierschawalder

Look 1: This look has an almost lace filigree finish. It looks so intricate and delicate. The transparent sheet of hair has been moulded into a circular shape to create a face-hugging visor. We j’adore!

Look 2: The futuristic nature of this look is stunning. Heavily gelled and combed to create a shiny hard finish, the interesting hair shapes work with the curve of the head.
